Meet Land Artist, Elaine Clocherty, our artist-in-residence Feb-March 2015

As one of the initial group of artists to contribute creatively at Zani Place, during at our Submergence launch early last year, award wiinning WA Land Artist Elaine Clocherty spent time wandering around the little forest on our southern boundary and fell in love. One year later, fresh from Sydney Sculpture by the Sea and subsequent visits to land art installations and artists in New Zealand, she approached us to take up the residency opportunity and create a work in the forest.

Our residency is all about process, with no pressure on the artist to have some grand result. Each artist can approach it how ever they like and for whatever purpose. Elaine knows she loves the space, and it is big enough for her to experiment with new ideas. What will come, we shall see, as shall she....
For now, she's settled in the newly renovated residency with her little family; while each day in the forest, she explores her ephemeral process with the environment as her canvas... for two months she can live and play,, and all we know is on the Equinox, Sat, March 21 we'll celebrate.

If you are interested in inquiring about a residency; or are an artist of any age or stage in need of retreat; please contact us at create@meltingpotglass.com or ring Margot on 0420940123
