Melting Pot Glass Studio is a hub for glassblowing experiences, creative collaboration and handmade blown art glass in the Margaret River Wine Region.
The studio specialises in hot blown and sculpted art glass practice, with an emphasis on open studio sessions, commission appointments, and hot glass experience workshops including small group bookings.
After 35 years as the studio’s primary glass artist, Gerry Reilly is handing over responsibility for the commercial aspects of the Melting Pot to his longtime partner and business manager Margot Edwards, in conjunction with their son, glass artist, Ned Reilly who has taken over the primary glass artist role in running glassmaking workshops, and producing Melting Pot baubles and stemless glasses, alongside his own beautifully artworks. Gerry Reilly Glass Design tableware series will still be available in limited commission at the studio’s ‘off the shelf’ space and specific venues and events.
While not disappearing from hot glass forever, Gerry is retiring as we plan our move to a new studio set up in the future, where he can come and go at leisure, contribute his 40 years + expertise as designer-maker and in studio maintenance when needed; and undertake private practice when inspired.
